Our Story
VelaMira is a woman-owned and black-owned business that draws its name from the constellations, meaning ‘wonderful sails.’ Just as those stars guide sailors, we’re here to help guide you toward the life you were meant to live—full of purpose, balance, and fulfillment.
Our Founder & CEO, Leila Jones, is a seeker-leader who enjoys sharing her journey to help others. In the early years of VelaMira, Leila held several roles including website developer, technical writer, trainer, and project manager. She felt like something was missing. So, she continued to seek ways that she could express her other interests through her business.
In 2022, Leila discovered Quantum Human Design® and now has eight certifications, transforming her own life in the process. Leila discovered how to integrate her left-brained and right-brained interests and express her authentic self. She is a team lead and contract manager for a technical government program. Leila has a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and multiple degrees in metaphysical sciences. She is also a certified health coach through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and a HeartMath Add Heart Facilitator.
About Human Design
The Human Design system was founded by Ra Uru Hu in the 1990s. Karen Curry Parker learned the system from him and after about a decade, she began to feel that the language of Human Design was limiting. She created the Quantum Human Design® system to include higher vibrational language that helps people transform their lives and see themselves as a verb instead of a noun.
